Egg Production: Washing

To clean and sanitize the eggs, a machine washes them in water more than 100º F with a special cleaning solution. Once the eggs are washed, they’re rotated as they pass by 16 cameras which look for dirt spots. A computer analyzes the images and, if an egg is detected with dirt spots, the egg is routed back to the washer.
