A simple dash of “everything” takes deviled eggs from traditional to trendy in this modern take on the classic appetizer. Make your own everything bagel seasoning blend as described below or grab a ready-made mix at the grocery store.

Directions

  1. Place eggs in a large saucepan and cover with cool water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and cover with a lid. Allow eggs to sit in the pan for 12 minutes, then transfer eggs to an ice bath using a slotted spoon. Once eggs are cool, peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise.

  2. Place the egg yolks into a medium bowl and set aside the egg whites. Add the mayonnaise, cream cheese, mustard, onion flakes, garlic flakes, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, salt and pepper to the yolks. Stir to combine.

  3. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites.

  4. Serve and refrigerate leftovers up to three days.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
  • 3/4 tsp dried onion flakes
  • 3/4 tsp dried garlic flakes
  • 3/4 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

To ensure food safety, eggs should be cooked until both the yolk and the white are firm. Consuming raw or undercooked eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially for those with certain medical conditions. For recipes that call for eggs that are raw or undercooked when the dish is served, use either pasteurized shell eggs that have been treated to destroy Salmonella, or use pasteurized egg products.
