Microwave Egg, Sausage & Tomato Breakfast Bowl


  1. COAT 2-cup microwave-safe cereal bowl with cooking spray. ADD eggs and milk; BEAT until blended. ADD sausage.

  2. MICROWAVE on HIGH 45 seconds; PUSH cooked edges toward center. MICROWAVE until egg is almost set, about 45 to 60 seconds longer.

  3. TOP with cheese, tomato and basil. SERVE immediately.


  • 2 large EGGS
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. fully cooked breakfast sausage crumbles OR one fully cooked breakfast sausage link or patty, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped tomato
  • 2 basil leaves, thinly sliced


This recipe is an excellent source of protein, vitamin A and choline, and a good source of vitamin D and folate.

To ensure food safety, eggs should be cooked until both the yolk and the white are firm. Consuming raw or undercooked eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially for those with certain medical conditions. For recipes that call for eggs that are raw or undercooked when the dish is served, use either pasteurized shell eggs that have been treated to destroy Salmonella, or use pasteurized egg products.
